Easy Review best sushi on Maui. Just over two weeks and 2 Islands we've been to about 11 different stops for sushj and this one tops it. Not only is everything fresh and just great the staff and chef are amazing. After ordering acouple rolls and pieces of sushi we simply asked our waitress "can you ask the chef for their favorite roll". Acouple minutes later and what I can only describe as heaven on a plate showed up... Sent to us was a roll that wasn't even on the menu and was just the chefs and now my favorite roll. Ask for the same maybe they'll make it but don't say I sent you. Waitresses are very friendly, you don't need to be a local to feel welcomed here. It's a great environment and worth the 12 hour flight from Toronto.

Stopped in on the way to the airport looking for warm soup on a rainy day for lunch service. We were greeted by a waitress who was genuinely concerned about our comfort. She recommended the saimin and we were not disappointed! The broth was hearty, but light on the tongue and with delicate shellfish flavors. Really good! Ingredients in the saimin were very flavorful and incorporated well. We also ordered the potstickers and were delighted with the flakey fried wraps. Service was quick and personable, food was delicious. Very happy with our experience!

8/2023 We were staying across the street at Maui Seaside Hotel to support Maui relief efforts. This was a very convenient and pleasant option. Food and selection were great, quick, and supported with friendly service. It was bust but didn't take too long to get to our table of nine. Not going into details about the plethora of items we ordered but suffice to say everything was onolicious! Again, the friendly service ( may have been the manager) helped top off the evening. I would definitely want to go back!

Ichiban Maui is conveniently located near the airport (OGG) and was busy with both dine in and take out customers on Saturday night. Arrive early (5pm) for fast seating! Sushi is cold and fresh, hot dishes were hot and flavorful, particularly the Chow Funn! Servers worked well as a team and were professional and helpful. We will try to visit Ichiban again next time on Maui! Beer and Saki available’

Amazing sushi, great prices for Hawaii too (relative to the rest of our meals out while visiting), and friendly staff. Looks unassuming on the outside but was nice on the inside.

ATMOSPHERE: Despite other eateries in this mall that are well known to be dirty and nasty, this place is a lot cleaner. A renovation was completed a few years ago which removed the elevated section of seats in the middle of the restaurant. There's a small sushi bar and counter seating towards the back, with the rest being flexible table seating that can accommodate parties of all sizes. MENU: It's a mix of local, American, and Japanese apps & entrees, breakfast items, sandwiches, udon, saimin, sushi, steaks, stir fry, hot pots, don bowls. FOOD: Nabeyaki Udon Not listed on the menu but is still available to order. Loaded with chicken chunks, poached egg, bamboo, gobo, won bok, mushrooms, broccoli, onions, and a big piece of shrimp tempura on top. The noodles were perfectly chewy. The broth was a bit too sweet for me, but a slow swish of shoyu made it all better. Saimin This is a very bare bones version compared to what you can find elsewhere. The broth was good and savory with no sweetness, the noodles were a bit overcooked. It was topped with green onions, won bok, fish cake, Spam, and oddly dehydrated onions which were coated in onion powder. I'm sure it enhanced the broth flavor but was very pungent on the pallet. The portion size was on the small side. Pass. RESERVATIONS: They're not really needed as turnover is quick and there are lots of seats. SERVICE: Everyone was friendly and professional and food service was fast. OVERALL: Extensive menu, very good nabeyaki udon, forgettable saimin, steep prices.

Service was quick The food portions were huge for the price point. Atmosphere was quaint. It was my birthday so we had a big group of eight people.
